MapSieve — Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
MapSieve is a lead-research tool for marketing agencies and local businesses. It has two parts: a Chrome browser extension and a web app (dashboard + API) at the MapSieve domain. This policy explains what data each part accesses, what is sent to our servers, and how it is used. We keep it deliberately narrow: we do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not build user profiles for any purpose unrelated to the tool's single function.
What the extension accesses
The extension runs only on Google Maps pages (https://www.google.com/maps/* and the equivalent country domains). When you click Scan or Scrape, it reads the publicly visible business listings on the page you are viewing — business name, rating, review count, category, address, phone, and website — exactly the information any visitor can see. It does not read other tabs, your browsing history, your Google account, cookies, or any page outside Google Maps.
On the free tier, to gather contact details the extension may briefly open business listing pages in a hidden background window on your own device; that window is closed automatically when the scan finishes. No browsing data is collected from it beyond the public business details described above.
What is sent to our servers
- The public business details from your scan are sent to the MapSieve API to be scored or compiled into a contact list, and the result is returned to you.
- If you sign in and choose to save leads, those leads are stored in your account so you can access them in the dashboard. You can delete them at any time.
- If you connect GoHighLevel and push a lead, that lead's details are sent to your own GoHighLevel account via its official API.
- We do not receive your name, browsing history, keystrokes, or any data from non–Google-Maps pages.
Account data
Using the dashboard or saving leads is optional and requires an account. When you create one, we store your email address and authentication details with our infrastructure provider (Supabase). Email is used only for sign-in and essential service messages.
Permissions, and why we need them
- Host access to Google Maps — to read the public business listings on the Maps page you are scanning. This is the extension's single purpose.
- activeTab / scripting — to read the listings on the current Maps tab when you click Scan.
- sidePanel — to show the MapSieve panel.
- storage — to remember your settings (API address and, if you provide one, your access token) on your device.
Third-party services
We use Supabase (authentication, database, file storage). Premium features may use DataForSEO (business data) and Anthropic (audit text generation); these are used only to fulfill a request you initiate and only receive the business details necessary to do so. None of these providers receive your data for their own marketing.
Data retention & deletion
Scans you do not save are processed transiently and not retained as personal records. Saved leads and your account data persist until you delete them or request account deletion. To delete your account and associated data, email us at the address below.
Limited use
MapSieve's use of information received from Google APIs and from Google Maps pages adheres to a limited-use policy: the data is used solely to provide and improve the scanning, scoring, and outreach features you request, is never sold, and is never used for advertising.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
